Manitoba has many psychiatric facilities that can provide services to individuals of all ages who have a mental health disorder. The facilities vary in the services they provide. If you believe your son/daughter needs to be admitted to a psychiatric facility, contact the facility beforehand to ensure that your son/daughter’s mental health condition can be supported at the facility.
Types of Psychiatric services
- In-patient psychiatric units: provide psychiatric care and treatment in hospitals operated by Regional Health Authorities.
- Out-patient services: are provided at many community hospitals. These services include assessment, treatment and case management services for people with mental health difficulties.
Below are psychiatric facilities located in each regional health authority. Please view their website to get more information on their mental health department and their contact information.
