Psychiatric Facilities
Manitoba has many psychiatric facilities that can provide services to individuals of all ages who have a mental health disorder. The facilities vary in the services they provide. If you believe your son/daughter needs to be admitted to a psychiatric facility, contact the facility beforehand to ensure that your son/daughter’s mental health condition can be supported at the facility.
Types of Psychiatric services
- In-patient psychiatric units: provide psychiatric care and treatment in hospitals operated by Regional Health Authorities.
- Out-patient services: are provided at many community hospitals. These services include assessment, treatment and case management services for people with mental health difficulties.
