Safety

Children, youth and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are vulnerable to safety risks in the community. As a parent or caregiver, it is your responsibility to make sure you’re providing your child with the skills they need to be as safe as possible. It is important to be aware that some of the differences that come with autism may lead to dangerous situations, and what you can do as a parent to make sure your child is as safe as possible when out in the community. Explore the Safety section to learn more about safety in the community for individuals with ASD.
